I recently got my hands
on a sample of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. Considering
that full price this stuff is like liquid gold retailing at £29.50,
I thought it would be useful to do a review on the sample before any
serious bank damage is made...
The foundation comes in
15 shades which gives some versatility and hopefully if should be
easy to find a shade which suits your skin tone. I got mine sent in
shade 2 - Fair as my skin is a really pale tone. I find it difficult
to find a shade that matches, even when I've been properly matched at
a make-up counter, so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of the
shade.
It has SPF15 which is a
must when you're spending that much on a foundation. I believe that
SPF is an important element of a foundation so that it provides
protection as well as coverage.
The result? I'm really
impressed! For once I've sampled a foundation and actually been
pleased which is a rarity for me. The shade is a suitable match which
I find difficult in all foundations, whether they are cheap or
expensive. This one is a lovely porcelain colour that doesn't make my
skin look orange. The coverage is even and it covers blemishes well
without caking the skin.
Here are some before and after pics I took before work. As it was very early in the morning when I took these photos bear in mind that it is artificial lighting rather than natural light:

After application of foundation |
Me pulling faces afer makeup is complete! |
Definitely worth trying
if you're looking for a new foundation and willing to pay the price.
Although I think it is a foundation that actually does its job and not
only that, does its job well, I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend
that much on a foundation just yet.
Perhaps a birthday
present idea...? :P
Have any of you tried
this foundation? What were your thoughts?
